The Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) does not have a specific recommendation for the best time for a baby to be circumcised. However, many healthcare providers believe that the first two weeks of a baby's life is a good time for circumcision, as the baby is less likely to be aware of their surroundings and the use of a local anesthetic makes the procedure relatively painless.
At our clinic, we offer a range of techniques for circumcision. The most commonly used techniques are the Gomco circumcision clamp and the Mogen circumcision clamp. In order to ensure the comfort and safety of our patients, we utilize a long-lasting anesthetic during the procedure. This combination of techniques and local anesthetic results in a circumcision procedure that is efficient, effective, and minimizes discomfort for the patient.
